Dita’s Interior Design aspirations began in London where she attended courses at the Regency Academy of Fine Arts, and worked with local contractors consulting on paint colours and painting homes. Her life journey then brought her to Vancouver, where Dita joined Benjamin Moore as a colour specialist and quickly ascended to a design consultant.
Realizing her passion extended beyond just colour design, Dita embarked on the completion of her Interior Design Certificate at BCIT in 2005. Shortly after her graduation, Dita joined an established interior design firm in Vancouver, Synthesis Design, where she remained for 2 years working on various small and large-scale projects.
Dita’s experience and expertise with colour finely compliments her design and finishing choices. She incorporates these assets into various projects, which include space planning, millwork designs and renderings. She attributes her styles to contemporary, modern, transitional industrial and traditional versatile. Having an easy-going attitude with people, Dita’s approach with clients makes them feel confident with their choices and well advised by an expert.
Pulse Design Interiors was founded by Dita in 2008, and has been providing interior design services for Homeowners, Builders and Developers specializing in custom homes.
Ken works closely with Prinicpal Dita Sofkova on every project he is involved in at Pulse Design. Always one to think outside the box, Ken enjoys tackling diverse challenges, and is equally at home selecting colour and material schemes as he is with millwork drawings, furniture design, and full construction packages.
Dita is truly a professional and dedicated to her craft. We could not have done this without her. If you want someone who is conscious of your budget no matter how large or small I would highly recommend her services. If a picture is worth a thousand words then take a look at our home. We walk into the door every day and are taken aback at how happy it makes us feel to come home. Her colour palate is something to be seen. Dita is always putting herself in your shoes to get the result that you are looking for, even if you don’t know it yet. That’s the true gift that a designer should bring to the table. Thank you so very much Dita! Our dream is now a reality.

My experience with Dita consists of her designing the interior of my house in 2012 and apartment in 2014.
Dita has a flawless sense of space. Her designs achieve the optimum in terms of movement comfort and flow for a given size and shape of space.
Her work as a designer reflects an unusual ability to achieve aesthetic style, comfort, and practicality at a reasonable price.
Dita is passionate about her projects, and puts an amount of thought, effort, and energy that reflects that passion rather than merely fulfilling her duties according to contract. She is very charming and personable, and skilled at working with clients and contractors alike. I highly recommend Dita as a designer.

In the last year we have been fortunate to build a new home. Dita Sofkova (Pulse Design) was our Interior Designer.
The main areas Dita worked on for us were Great Room, Bathrooms, and Laundry Room (where she managed to fit laundry, wine fridge, coffee room and pantry into a small space and have it work perfectly). Also all colour for inside and outside of the house.
First Dita was a joy to work with she very quickly picked up on the ‘look’ we were striving for. Her sense of colour was amazing. Dita was always pleasant, professional, enthusiastic even when our meetings would run to several hours since we were from out of town and had to make many decisions whenever we were together. Dita kept a look out for what we needed and would keep in touch via email when she found anything she thought we might like. And perhaps most importantly she would tell us when something we had found would not work and why. For example we found house numbers and Dita immediately said too small, wrong colour and you can not put them over front entrance but should be vertically on garage, she was absolutely right.
We would highly recommend Dita to anyone considering an Interior Designer.
